God has loved us into being. We belong to and in God’s creation.

The disconnection between humanity and our common home has led to both material and spiritual challenges — what Pope Benedict XVI describes as the desertification of the world and of our souls. Yet, there is profound hope.  By nurturing our relationships with God, with each other, and with creation, we can move toward wholeness.

Our first step is to embrace the gift of creation, a reflection of God’s love for us. In delighting in and caring for this gift, we praise God. Let us pray for the grace to encounter Christ in creation, to love it as he does, and to grow in communion with him through it.

To this end, Catholic communities all across the United States will organize and make pilgrimages in 2025.

“The urgent challenge to protect our common home includes a concern to bring the whole human family together to seek a sustainable and integral development, for we know that things can change.”

Pope Francis, Laudato Si’, 13
